What do you like most about working at Superna?
The best part of Superna is the collective talent and knowledge we have here. Everyone is so open and willing to help each other and I am constantly in awe of so many of my colleagues across all the different teams. Their skills and knowledge inspire me to continue learning about our technologies and platforms.

How has your career developed since you started working with us?
In April 2017 I started with Superna. At that point, we didn’t really have a Business Operations ‘Team’ – it was just me at a desk in the corner of the sparsely populated second floor of the office. At that time the release of Ransomware Defender was planned for that quarter. In the 6 years since, Superna has expanded to a suite of solutions across multiple platforms and the business (as well as the business ops team) has grown exponentially. It’s been such a privilege to be a part of the rapid organic growth here at Superna.

What unique obstacles have you had to overcome to get to where you are today?
Since my background is not at all technical, one of the biggest challenges for me was learning the architecture and technology behind Superna solutions and NAS overall, even down to the crazy amount of acronyms we use day-to-day.

If you could give your “younger self” (career) some advice, what would you say?
I’ve always tried to keep the mindset that got me where I am, basically to say ‘Yes’ to everything that comes your way – whether its taking on a new task, an opportunity to learn something new, or helping out a colleague – approaching everything with a positive attitude has been the best advice I could share.

What do you like most about working at Superna?
I like the high level of collaboration. My manager encourages me to come forward with ideas. The team supports one another, and if someone has problems, they don’t hesitate to seek help because they know a colleague is always willing to assist.

How has your career developed since you started working with us?
As a technical writer, I work with lots of different tools and here, at Superna my knowledge and skills are growing day by day. I have different types of tasks that make my day at work interesting.

What unique obstacles have you had to overcome to get to where you are today? (does not need to be work related, but can be)
When I was twelve years old I was shy and afraid of everything new. But one day I realize I need to be brave. When everyone tells you: “You can’t do it”, you stand up and do it. Believe in yourself, and be brave.

If you could give your “younger self” (career) some advice, what would you say?
Believe in yourself, every end is a new beginning, and never try never know. Do not be afraid, you can do it!

My name is Hamzah and I’m the Recruitment specialist of Superna. I’ve been in the company for 8 months.

What do you like most about working at Superna?
What I like about working in Superna is the Work culture. It is very diverse and everyone’s opinion is heard. I feel appreciated and comfortable talking to my colleagues.I also learn a lot of things from Superna, especially in the technical side.

How has your career developed since you started working with us?
I had been working as a Talent acquisition professional for 10 years in 3 different countries in 5 industries and I have to say with Superna my knowledge in the tech industry had increased. It sharpened my skills to find the right talent in this industry.

What unique obstacles have you had to overcome to get to where you are today?
Like any person I had my fair share of personal issues and uncontrolled events that I had to overcome. I worked my way out starting from the bottom of the corporate ladder but through perseverance, I am proud to have conquered those challenges. I was also lucky that I met people along the way who gave me the right advice that brought me to where I am now.

If you could give your younger self advice, what would you say?
Buy Bitcoin and Get certified in HR (like CHRP or SHRM-CP).

Introduce yourself and role at Superna
Hi, my name is Dennis and I’m spearheading a number of the marketing initiatives here at Superna as the Director of Demand Generation Marketing. I’m currently entering my 7th month as a Superna employee and loving it.

What do you like most about working at Superna?
What I appreciate most about working with Superna is the opportunity to apply my experience in digital marketing to an exciting space with a tried-and-true product that supports thousands of businesses across the world. Not only am I able to work on projects I love, but I get to plot the strategy and their direction knowing I’m making a real impact on how everything performs. The level of trust and freedom to execute my plans has been fantastic and the opportunity to learn has been limitless.

How has your career developed since you started working with us?
Since starting with Superna, I’ve been provided with access to leadership and resources that I know are empowering me to further my skills and abilities, which have made accomplishing my long-term careers goals clearer and more achievable than ever. I love working with a talented team that not only supports me, but also motivates me to become better by their example alone.

What unique obstacles have you had to overcome to get to where you are today? (does not need to be work related, but can be)
With Marketing being such a large field it has been a journey to find myself running demand generation programs for a B2B SaaS company, which has been a dream scenario for me. I’ve had to learn and unlearn a lot in the marketing world becoming a Jack-of-all-trades, but have also had to do marketing in a variety of industries before acquiring the skills required to land where I am today.

If you could give your “younger self” some advice, what would you say?
If I could give my younger self advice, I would tell myself to buy Bitcoin @ $0.30 and sell at $30K.

I’m Dave Orban and I head-up Product Marketing here at Superna. Following a career in design and marketing management, I entered the world of B2B Tech Marketing in 1998. To date, I’ve headed-up marketing for 4 tech startups, leading two through successful exits through acquisition in the $300 million range. The startups taught me how to do more with less, and gave me the opportunity to learn every aspect of B2B Tech Marketing… from branding, positioning and messaging, to new product introductions, collateral design, to event management, to PR, Media, and Analyst Relations. With that broad palette of skills, I’m able to make better-informed decisions and be effective under frequently difficult conditions. Superna, while not exactly a startup, gives me the opportunity to flex those marketing muscles in support of a terrific set of timely solutions, working side-by-side with some really smart, talented people as we grow the company into a world-class solution provider. It really is a dream job!

I came to Superna from Commvault, where I spent 8 years in product and solutions marketing, most recently overseeing their data protection and disaster recovery suite of solutions.

In my admittedly spare time, I paint (still life); perform music with a jazz/blues quartet I started back in ’98; and wreak occasional havoc in the kitchen.
